Straw Towers!

This week, the second group of grade 9 students started their civics course by studying the various forms of government. Through an activity where they attempted to build the tallest free-standing straw tower, students experienced small-scale versions of democratic, authoritarian, and laissez-faire governments and their practices.

Elements and Chemicals

This week, the grade 9 students continued their chemistry unit with the study of the periodic table. They learned about its structure as well as the relationship between an element’s position and its properties. Students explored metals, nonmetals, metalloids and even atomic orbitals.
