Holy Mole-y!

This week, the grade 11 students started a new unit in chemistry on Moles. Students learned about molar mass, how to calculate mass percentage, and empirical and molecular formulas. These concepts were then applied to a lab in which students heated hydrated Copper (II) Sulfate to find its empirical formula.

Explicitly Implicit Differentiation

This week, the grade 11 students enhanced their knowledge of derivatives by learning implicit differentiation: a concept that is useful in determining the derivative of an implicit function. Using concepts such as the Chain Rule, students were able to solve complex derivatives with ease.
