Grade 9 Science students received a unique opportunity to dissect a frog earlier this week! Donning aprons, vinyl gloves, and safety goggles, the students explored the organs and organ systems of these amphibians as they leapt into a new unit of science: biology.

Visit to UTAIS

AP Physics students visited the University of Toronto Institute of Aerospace Studies, where they were introduced to many subjects of post-graduate research, from computational fluid dynamics to aircraft design optimization. Students had the opportunity to interact with professors, graduate students, and PhD candidates to learn more about the research conducted at UTAIS.

Grade 9 Biology

In preparation for their biology unit, students in Ms. Oliver’s grade 9 science class reviewed microscope procedures and examined the intricate structure of a fish scale slide with their new tools. They also prepared a wet-mount slide to observe a printed letter. Microscopes reveal the world in a whole new way: up close and personal!
