The grade 11 students celebrated the completion of Semester 1 by journeying to Camp Pinecrest. Relaxation came in the form of playing broomball, designing and racing cardboard toboggans, and building and sleeping in quinzees! It was a trip to remember.

The stressful but mandatory exam week began on Thursday and after exam review day the next Thursday, wraps up the first semester, and brings us on to the next one, starting over fresh as spring approaches.

This week's grade nine science classes were eventful to say the least, with five consecutive days of interesting and engaging presentations. From learning about galaxies to the Big Bang, it's been an exciting and educational week.

Though the semester is drawing to a close, the grade 10 TOPS math course has not slowed down! This week, students wrapped up the trigonometry unit with a back-to-back quiz and test as they their final summative in preparation for the upcoming exam.

After studying medieval romance and literature, the grade tens began their final text of the course: Romeo and Juliet. In diving through the sophisticated Shakespearean poetry, students will study the use of oxymoron, wordplay and other literary devices in this timeless tragedy.

After a long Christmas break of recreation, sleeping, and studying for exams, the Grade 9 TOPS students put on their thinking caps and started to work hard. In the Physics unit, they continue to learn about batteries, circuits and electricity. The students are really getting a charge from the electrical unit!

After hard work on their "Green man" self-portraits, the grade tens showcased their artistic talents. In creating a portrait depicting their wild, untamed inner spirits, the students shared not only their interpretations of the quintessential "green man" archetype, but also a side of themselves otherwise unseen!
