Meat Day

Previous to becoming a teacher, Mr. van Bemmel was a butcher. Each year, Grade 10s and 12s are taken through an intense biology lesson full of gooey surprises. A pig's head, hind leg, and torso are systematically dismembered and passed around for all to ogle at as Mr. van Bemmel teaches about the history, workings, and art of butchery. This much anticipated event has even the most squeamish coming back for more and the science classroom packed with students eager to learn more about the anatomy of the sus domesticus.
