MGCI Clubs Fair

This Friday, MGCI held their first Clubs Fair in the galleria at lunch. Dozens of student-led groups including Orphan Sponsorship Club and the Muslim Student Association promoted their respective clubs and activities. Promotional items such as doodling cards and paper cranes were also given out at the event, attracting a successful student turn-out overall.

Royal Ontario Museum

The grade 11 biology students spent a day at the Royal Ontario Museum to observe real-world applications of biological topics and participate in an evolution workshop. In addition to visiting the various exhibits, they were lectured by a speaker on the evolution of the human skull from our primal ancestors to the current homo sapiens.    

Space Day

The grade 11 students volunteered for the annual Space Day at Monarch Park Stadium hosted by the Canadian Space Resource Centre. Working in pairs, they led different stations which explored topics including black holes and rocket engines. They taught the grade six students who arrived from different Toronto schools in an interactive and engaging manner.

HOSA Conference

On March 27 and 28, TOPS students from all grades competed in HOSA Canada’s annual Spring Leadership Conference. Through a wide array of competitive health science events from Sports Medicine to Biomedical Debate, a total of 23 students placed top three in their events, qualifying them for the International Leadership Conference in Dallas this June.
