World War I Literature

Beautiful turns-of-phrase and vivid imagery pervade the WWI novel All Quiet On The Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, which we are reading in our grade 10 English and History classes. On Tuesday, we wrote a literary analysis paragraph about the themes and morals of the story so far.

“Et tu, Brute?”

This week, the grade 10 English class covered Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. Students were tasked with choosing a scene from the play and manipulating the text to tell a more effective story. Performances of the new scripts, with rewritten and condensed plots, begin next Tuesday.
