Different types of Functions

This week, the grade 10 math students learned to identify different types of graphs and translations. The graphs ranged from linear, quadratic, cubic, square root, exponential, reciprocal, to inverse. The students analyzed the functions to identify their reflection, stretch, compression, and translation.

The Epic of Gilgamesh

This week, grade 9 TOPS students studied the Epic of Gilgamesh, one of the first great works of literature. Groups were assigned for students to reenact a chapter from the epic and to break down the story into key scenes. As a result, students were able to further their understanding of important elements in the text.

Kirchhoff’s Laws

To conclude their physics unit on electricity, Grade 9 students were taught Kirchhoff’s Laws, which involved the equalities found in electrical circuits. In addition, students applied the various properties of measurements in a circuit to successfully find unknown values in schematic diagrams.

Analyzing Animal Skulls

This week, the Grade 11 TOPS students applied their knowledge on the characteristics of different organisms in an activity they completed in biology. They were given many different types of animal skulls to analyze and identify.
